Every true crime aficionado will tell you how they discovered their favorite website. It’s usually a friend of a friend who recommended it. They say word of mouth is the best marketing tool, but what about those of us who are just starting out? The sea of podcasts can feel daunting, so what makes your podcast stand out? Truth is, probably nothing if we are being honest here. Getting a podcast to become successful takes a lot of skill outside of just creating good content. This is how I ended up in the Digital Marketing Program that Udacity offers.

I chose this program because I knew I needed better skills to target my key demographic. The trial and error method can only get you so far. After countless Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter posts with limited engagement I knew I had to learn more. The Digital Marketing program offered me the chance to do that. Even though I haven't finished the course yet, I've learned so much. I never scheduled content and posted when I felt like it. The program taught me that was definitely not the way to go. Now I can make a full content calendar and stick to it. Things like this are what you need to take your podcast to the next level.

The program itself also offers something I need, feedback from a real person. The projects have been intense and eye-opening, but they make sure you have grasped the content before they pass you. Too many sites offer courses with no real person to help you along the way. Those might be great for some people, but I need a teacher to give me feedback.  If you're serious about your podcast from a business perspective, the Udacity Digital Marketing Degree is where you need to be.
